2007-2008 season updates
Feb 26 Gordon Lee's season ended with a 76-60 loss to top-ranked Hancock Central in the second round of the state tournament. The Trojans, who finished with a record of 21-8, fell behind early, rallied to cut the deficit to six points on several occasions, but could never get any closer. Grayson Chambers led all scorers with 22 points while Eric Galyon scored 21 for GLHS.
Feb 22 The Trojans outscored Social Circle 20-10 in the first quarter and went on to a 58-49 win in the first round of the state tournament. Eric Galyon led all scorers with 18 points and Grayson Chambers added 16 for GLHS, who knocked down nine three-pointers as a team.
Feb 16 Gordon Lee led 24-8 after the first quarter and 53-25 at halftime of its 88-48 blasting of Excel Christian in the finals of the Region 6-A tournament. Blake Royal scored 21 points, Grayson Chambers had 16, and Eric Galyon added 13 to the Trojans' attack.
Feb 15 The Trojans rallied to beat Bremen 64-60 in the semifinals of the Region 6-A tournament. Grayson Chambers led GLHS with 18 points. Ryan Culbreth scored 11.
Feb 9 Gordon Lee lost to Ringgold 65-58. Grayson Chambers scored 14 points for the Trojans and Blake Royal added 11.
Feb 8 The Trojans went 20-for-28 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter to knock off Boyd-Buchanan 55-46. Grayson Chambers led GLHS with 14 points
Feb 5 Gordon Lee completed a 10-0 sweep through Region 6-A opponents with a 83-61 win over Excel Christian. The Trojans had five players reach double figures in scoring. Eric Galyon led the attack with 16 points, Grayson Chambers added 15, Jordan Afman had 13, Dalton Ruby 11, and Trey Clendenen 10.
Feb 2 The Trojans lost to Dade County 74-62 as the Wolverines went 32-for-37 from the free throw line while Gordon Lee was only 9-for-12. Grayson Chambers led GLHS with 17 points while Eric Galyon had 11.
Feb 1 Gordon Lee remained perfect in region play, defeating Bremen 63-25. Grayson Chambers had 22 points for the Trojans and Chris York added 16.
Jan 29 The Trojans used a 14-0 run in the fourth quarter to rally for a 63-57 win over Trion. The victory clinches the top spot in the upcoming region tournament for GLHS. Grayson Chambers led the scoring for Gordon Lee with 20 points.
Jan 25 Gordon Lee won its seventh straight region game, beating Mt. Zion 70-33. Chris York led GLHS with 12 points. Jordan Afman added 11.
Jan 22 The Trojans outscored Excel Christian 26-11 in the fourth quarter of their 73-58 win over the Eagles. Grayson Chambers led Gordon Lee with 21 points. Eric Galyon scored 20, including six three-pointers, while Ryan Culbreth chipped in 13.
Jan 18 Gordon Lee broke open a tie game with a 27-7 burst in the second quarter to on its way to a 79-42 defeat of Bowdon. Grayson Chambers led all scorers with 14 points. Eric Galyon and Trey Clendenen each scored 12 in the first half to fuel the GLHS run. Derek Roberts had 11 rebounds while Clendenen finished with 10.
Jan 15 The Trojans improved to 4-0 in region play with a 54-43 win over Trion. Chris York led GLHS with 14 points. Grayson Chambers added 10. The JV team was also victorious over the Bulldogs.
Jan 11 Gordon Lee knocked off Bremen 72-51. Grayson Chambers had 13 points and Eric Galyon scored 10 to lead a balanced Trojan attack. Trey Clendenen had a team-high eight rebounds and Casey Mount dished out seven assists.
Jan 8 The Trojans defeated Mt. Zion 55-30. Eric Galyon led GLHS with 13 points. Grayson Chambers and Josh Guthrie added 12 each.
Jan 4 Gordon Lee opened region play with a 64-48 win over Bowdon. Grayson Chambers led the Trojans' attack with 23 points. Josh Guthrie added 10.
Dec 29 The Trojans lost to Fannin County 56-47 in the championship game of the Battle of the States tournament. Grayson Chambers led Gordon Lee with 11 points.
Dec 28 Gordon Lee used a 31-11 game-ending run to defeat Union County 70-53 and advance to the finals of the Battle of the States tournament. Grayson Chambers and Eric Galyon had 16 points each for the Trojans while Trey Clendenen pulled down 11 rebounds.
Dec 27 The Trojans defeated Prince Avenue Christian 58-53 in the opening round of the Battle of the States tournament. Grayson Chambers led all scorers with 23 points. Derek Roberts added 10 for GLHS.
Dec 18 Gordon Lee held off LaFayette to take a 76-68 win. The Trojans were 23-of-29 at the free throw line, including 13-of-17 in the fourth quarter. Grayson Chambers scored 13 of his game-high 22 points in the final period, while Jordan Afman added 13 points for the game and Eric Galyon chipped in with 10.
Dec 15 The Trojans held a five-point lead after three quarters but saw Ringgold come back to take a 60-53 win. GLHS was led by Lloyd Askew with 13 points. Grayson Chambers added 11 and Eric Galyon chipped in with 10.
Dec 8 Gordon Lee fell to Boyd-Buchanan 61-48. Grayson Chambers led the Trojans with nine points.
Dec 7 The Trojans lost to Dade County 103-75. Eric Galyon had 20 points, Grayson Chambers added 19, and Lloyd Askew chipped in with 10 points for GLHS.
Dec 4 Gordon Lee beat LaFayette 56-41. Grayson Chambers scored 15 of his 19 points in the second half to help the Trojans pull away. Eric Galyon and Derek Roberts added 10 points each. The JV team opened its season with a loss to the Ramblers.
Nov 27 The Trojans suffered their first defeat of the season, falling to Ridgeland 76-37. Derek Roberts scored 10 points to lead GLHS.
Nov 24 Gordon Lee improved its record to 3-0 with an 80-66 victory over North Sand Mountain. Eric Galyon led the Trojans with 22 points. Ryan Culbreth added 15 while Grayson Chambers and Lloyd Askew scored 13 each.
Nov 23 The Trojans won their second game in the Dade Tipoff Classic, defeating Ider 83-74. Grayson Chambers scored 33 points to pace the GLHS attack, while Eric Galyon scored 13 and Casey Mount had 12.
Nov 21 Gordon Lee opened its season with a 62-59 win over Northwest Whitfield at the Dade Tipoff Classic. Grayson Chambers led the Trojans with 18 points. Ryan Culbreth had 13 and Eric Galyon added 10.
