GLHS Cross Country 2009

2009 season updates

Nov 7 Camilla Loggins finished 16th overall among over 200 runners in the girls' Class A state cross country meet in Carrollton with a time of 21:20. Amanda Madaris, Haley Smith, Lil Bradbury, and Melanie Boyd also scored for the Lady Trojans, who finished 17th as a team.

Oct 29 Camilla Loggins (21:35) finished second individually and the Lady Trojans placed third as a team in the Region 6-A meet at Berry College. Loggins ran her best time of the season, as did Amanda Madaris, Lil Bradbury, and Melanie Boyd. The team qualified for the state meet in Carrollton. The boys' team finished outside the top four and will not advance.

Oct 22 The boys' team defeated Ridgeland and Bledsoe County and the girls beat CSAS and Collegedale in the CCCL Championships at Baylor. Camilla Loggins finished 23rd out of 200 runners in her race and received an award for being one of the top 20 runners in the league during the season. GLHS runners who turned in personal bests during the Championships were Jameson Mullinax, Harlley McDaniel, Tanner Hill, Haley Smith, Amanda Madaris, and Holly Afman.

Oct 15 Melanie Boyd and Holly Afman posted personal-best times for the Lady Trojans in a meet at Heritage, while Harlley McDaniel turned in a personal best for the Trojans.

Oct 13 In a meet at the Chattanooga River Park, Travis Eberhardt turned in his best time of the season to help the Trojans top Bledsoe County.

Oct 6 The Trojans beat Sale Creek and Bledsoe County in a meet at Fletcher Park as Jameson Mullinax and Tanner Hill had personal-best times. The Lady Trojans defeated Collegedale, Cleveland, CSAS, and Walker Valley.

Oct 3 The Gordon Lee girls had six runners turn in their best time of the year and finished 14th among the 38 teams entered in the Darlington Cross Country Festival. Haley Smith, Lil Bradbury, Emily Lockhart, Amanda Madaris, Melanie Boyd, and Holly Afman all had their fastest time of the season. The boys' team got season-bests from Cory Kay, Jameson Mullinax, and Dakota Brown.

Sep 29 The Trojans got season-best times from Cory Kay and Tanner Hill while the Lady Trojans saw Camilla Loggins, Emily Lockhart, Melanie Boyd, Holly Afman, and Amanda Madaris all run their best time of the year. Kay led the boys' team with a time of 21:35. Loggins finished first for the girls with a time of 21:49.

Sep 24 Camilla Loggins (22:27) finished seventh among over 100 runners to lead the Lady Trojans in their meet at Greenway Farm. Cory Kay led the Trojans with a time of 22:17.

Sep 19 Camilla Loggins was the top finisher for Gordon Lee at the CCCL meet at Chickamauga Dam, while Dakota Brown, Harlley McDaniel, and Amanda Madaris all battled the rain to post personal-best times.

Sep 1 In the first Chattanooga Cross Country League meet at Woodland Park the boys' team was led by Cory Kay (22:25), Jameson Mullinax, and Harlley McDaniel while the girls were led by Camilla Loggins (22:26), Haley Smith, and Emily Lockhart.
