Clarkson, Brock named basketball All-State

Two members of the GLHS Lady Trojans' basketball team have been named All-State by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Senior Ashlan Clarkson was one of five players selected to the first team and fellow senior Raven Brock was chosen as Honorable Mention.


Lady Trojans win Region 6A Championship

The Gordon Lee girls' basketball team defeated Bremen 49-39 to win their second consecutive Region 6A championship Saturday, February 14 at Shorter College. The Lady Trojans defeated AIS in the round of eight and Trion in the semifinals to reach the finals. Gordon Lee was a perfect 16-0 against region opponents during the season. The Lady Trojans also qualified for the state tournament for the fourth consecutive year.

Ashlan Clarkson was named by Region 6A coaches as MVP of the All-Region team.


2003-2004 season updates

February 28 - The Lady Trojans' season ended with a 63-57 loss to Jefferson in the second round of the state tournament. The game was tied entering the fourth quarter but the Lady Dragons outscored Gordon Lee 22-16 during the period. Jefferson made 20 of 23 free throws for the game compared to 10 of 17 for Gordon Lee. Ashlan Clarkson scored 23 points for the Lady Trojans.

February 20 - Gordon Lee advanced to the second round of the state tournament with a 70-55 win over Warren County. Raven Brock and Ashlan Clarkson each scored 21 points for the Lady Trojans.

February 14 - Gordon Lee won their second consecutive Region 6A Championship by beating Bremen 49-39. Raven Brock led the Lady Trojans with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Ashlan Clarkson added 13 points for Gordon Lee.

February 13 - The Lady Trojans defeated Trion 56-46 to advance to the Region 6A finals. Ashlan Clarkson led the scoring with 18 points and Lauren Lowrance added 11. Sam Floyd pulled down 13 rebounds for Gordon Lee.

February 11 - Gordon Lee advanced to the Region 6A semifinals and secured a berth in the state tournament with a 60-36 win over AIS. Ashlan Clarkson led the Lady Trojans with 24 points.

February 7 - The Lady Trojans ended the regular season by defeating Boyd Buchanan 45-26. Maddie McKinley scored 18 for Gordon Lee.

February 6 - Gordon Lee finished off a perfect 13-0 region slate with a 69-47 win over Temple. Ashlan Clarkson scored 17 points for the Lady Trojans and Raven Brock added 14.

January 31 - The Lady Trojans clinched a number one seed in the region tournament by knocking off Bremen 73-52. Ashlan Clarkson scored 34 and Raven Brock added 12 for Gordon Lee.

January 30 - Gordon Lee defeated Temple 53-34. Raven Brock led the scoring with 14 points and Ashlan Clarkson added 13.

January 27 - Gordon Lee downed Marion County 71-20. Ashlan Clarkson scored 22 and Raven Brock 19 for the Lady Trojans. Brock scored her 1,000th career point in the win.

January 24 - The Lady Trojans raised their region record to 10-0 with a 55-22 win over Mount Paran. Ten players scored for Gordon Lee led by 15 points from Ashlan Clarkson and 13 from Raven Brock.

January 23 - Gordon Lee defeated Excel Christian 67-19. Ashlan Clarkson scored 23, Maddie McKinley 12, and Raven Brock 11 for the Lady Trojans.

January 20 - Gordon Lee lost to Boyd Buchanan 59-52. Ashlan Clarkson scored 21 for the Lady Trojans.

January 16 - Gordon Lee improved their region record to 8-0 with a 63-56 defeat of Trion. Ashlan Clarkson led the Lady Trojans with 28 points. Lauren Lowrance added 11.

January 15 - The Lady Trojans crushed Yeshiva 71-8. Lauren Lowrance led the scoring with 15 points, shooting a perfect 6 for 6 from the field.

January 10 - Gordon Lee defeated Atlanta International 54-20. Ashlan Clarkson scored 24 for the Lady Trojans. The JV team beat the Lady Eagles 44-26.

January 9 - Gordon Lee lost to Ridgeland 52-47. Ashlan Clarkson led the scoring for the Lady Trojans with 23 points. The JV team defeated Ridgeland 35-31.

January 5 - Gordon Lee defeated Trion 56-41. Ashlan Clarkson led the Lady Trojans with 25 points and broke the GLHS career scoring record of 1,496 points previously held by current GLHS athletic director Clay Crowder. The JV team lost to Trion 38-32.

January 3 - Gordon Lee beat Galloway 48-45.

January 2 - The Lady Trojans defeated Bremen 64-42. Ashlan Clarkson led Gordon Lee with 21 points and Raven Brock added 13.

December 20 - Gordon Lee beat LaFayette 50-41. Ashlan Clarkson led the scoring with 28 points. The JV team lost to LaFayette 58-32.

December 19 - The Lady Trojans defeated LFO 52-43. Ashlan Clarkson scored 30 points for Gordon Lee.

December 13 - Gordon Lee improved their region record to 2-0 with a 60-38 victory over St. Francis. Ashlan Clarkson led the scoring with 16 points. Maddie McKinley added 12 points and Raven Brock 10 for the Lady Trojans. The JV team defeated the Lady Knights 43-20.

December 12 - The Lady Trojans lost to Ridgeland 59-42. Ashlan Clarkson scored 21 for Gordon Lee. The JV team also lost to Ridgeland, 31-25.

December 9 - Gordon Lee defeated Excel 54-33 in their first region game of the season. Ashlan Clarkson led the scoring with 20 points.

December 6 - The Lady Trojans got 20 points from Ashlan Clarkson, 19 from Lauren Lowrance, and 15 from Sam Floyd as they defeated Marion County 82-59.

December 2 - Gordon Lee lost to LFO 46-38. The JV team also fell to the Lady Warriors, 32-26.

November 22 - The Lady Trojans picked up their first win of the season, defeating LaFayette 71-47. Ashlan Clarkson scored 27 points and Lauren Lowrance added 17 for Gordon Lee. The JV team also defeated LaFayette 47-20.

November 20 - Gordon Lee lost to Walker Valley 83-36. Ashlan Clarkson led the GLHS cause with 13 points.

November 18 - The Lady Trojans opened their season with a 60-58 loss to Tellico Plains.
