2010 season updates
Apr 22 The boys' team saw its season come to a close with a 5-0 loss to Mount Pisgah Christian in the first round of the state tournament.
Apr 21 The girls' team lost to Fellowship Christian 3-1 in the first round of the state tournament. The doubles team of Jennifer Eberhardt-Brenna Nation won the point for GLHS. The Lady Trojans ended the season with a record of 11-2.
Apr 15 The Trojans beat Bowdon 3-1 in the opening round of the Region 6-A tournament, lost to Darlington 3-0 in the semifinals, but came back to defeat Trion 3-2 in the third-place match. Daniel Smith, Drew Russ, and Joseph Looney won two matches each for GLHS. The Lady Trojans blanked Trion 3-0 in the tournament's semifinals but fell to Darlington 3-2 in the region championship match to finish as the region runner-up for the second consecutive year. Both Kelyse Mauldin and Victoria Anderson won two matches for Gordon Lee.
Apr 12 The girls' team defeated Bremen 5-0 to finish the regular season with a 10-0 record. GLHS got singles wins from Allison King, Kelyse Mauldin, and Victoria Anderson, and doubles victories from the teams of Jennifer Eberhardt-Brenna Nation and Savannah Kelley-Katie Barger. The boys' team fell to the Blue Devils 4-1. Joseph Looney won in singles for the Trojans.
Apr 1 The Lady Trojans clinched the top seed in the region tournament by beating Darlington 3-2. Allison King, Kelyse Mauldin, and Victoria Anderson got the wins for GLHS. The Trojans lost to the Tigers 5-0.
Mar 30 The girls' team improved to 3-0 in region play with a 4-1 victory over Trion. Allison King, Kelyse Mauldin, and Victoria Anderson swept the singles and the team of Savannah Kelley-Katie Barger won in doubles. The boys' team lost to the Bulldogs 5-0.
Mar 29 The Lady Trojans knocked off Dalton 4-1. Allison King, Kelyse Mauldin, and Victoria Anderson won singles matches while the team of Jennifer Eberhardt-Brenna Nation won in doubles. The Trojans fell to the Catamounts 4-1. Daniel Smith got the point for GLHS, who lost three three-set matches.
Mar 24 The girls' team blanked Northwest Whitfield 5-0. Allison King, Kelyse Mauldin, and Victoria Anderson won in singles and the teams of Jennifer Eberhardt-Brenna Nation and Savannah Kelley-Katie Barger notched doubles victories. The boys' team lost to the Bruins 4-1. Daniel Smith got the only win for GLHS.
Mar 23 The Trojans shut out Excel Christian 5-0. Daniel Smith, Drew Russ, and Joseph Looney picked up singles wins and the teams of Matt Malone-Jonathan Bettis and Travis Eberhardt-Jacob Bryson won in doubles. The Lady Trojans beat the Lady Eagles 4-1. GLHS got singles victories from Kelyse Mauldin and Victoria Anderson and doubles wins from the teams of Jennifer Eberhardt-Brenna Nation and Savannah Kelley-Katie Barger.
Mar 19 The girls' team opened its region schedule with a 5-0 blanking of Bowdon. Allison King, Kelyse Mauldin, and Victoria Anderson won singles matches while the teams of Jennifer Eberhardt-Brenna Nation and Savannah Kelley-Katie Barger won in doubles. The boys' team lost a tiebreaker in the third set of the deciding match and fell to the Red Devils 3-2. Daniel Smith won for GLHS as did the doubles team of Drew Russ-Joseph Looney.
Mar 17 The Lady Trojans got singles wins from Allison King, Kelyse Mauldin, and Victoria Anderson, and doubles wins from the teams of Savannah Kelley-Brenna Nation and Katie Barger-Jennifer Eberhardt to sweep Ringgold 5-0. The Trojans lost to the Tigers 4-1. Drew Russ-Joseph Looney won in doubles for GLHS.
Mar 15 The girls' team defeated LaFayette 4-1. Allison King, Kelyse Mauldin, and Victoria Anderson won singles matches and the doubles team of Savannah Kelley-Brenna Nation also won. The boys' team dropped a third-set tiebreaker in the deciding match and fell to the Ramblers 3-2. Daniel Smith and the team of Matt Malone-Jonathan Bettis picked up the two wins for GLHS.
Mar 9Allison King, Kelyse Mauldin, and Victoria Anderson swept the singles and the team of Savannah Kelley-Brenna Nation won in doubles to give the Lady Trojans a season-opening 4-1 win over Heritage. The Trojans fell to the Generals 5-0.
