Four receive NGAC honors
Four members of the Lady Trojan softball team received honors from the North Georgia Athletic Conference at the end-of-season awards ceremony. Named to the All-League team were shortstop Jordyn Hamill, catcher Ansley Underwood, and pitcher Megan Wolinsky. Second baseman Ashley McDonald was selected to the All-Tournament team.
2009 season updates
Sep 29 Chattanooga Valley scored two unearned runs in the top of the fifth inning to hand Gordon Lee a 2-1 loss in the first round of the NGAC tournament. The Lady Trojans finished the season with a record of 7-3.
Sep 25 The Lady Trojans pushed across two runs in the bottom of the second inning and Megan Wolinsky made them stand up in a 2-0 win over LaFayette. The victory clinched a second-place finish for GLMS and the number two seed in the upcoming NGAC tournament. The JV team pounded the Lady Ramblers 12-0.
Sep 18 Gordon Lee defeated Heritage 2-0. Megan Wolinsky pitched the complete-game shutout. Abbey Bohannon drove in the Lady Trojans' first run and Tiffany Holland scored the second on a wild pitch.
Sep 11 The Lady Trojans lost to Ringgold by a score of 4-1 to drop their NGAC record to 4-2.
Sep 10 Gordon Lee suffered its first loss of the season, falling to Dade County 3-1.
Sep 8 The Lady Trojans held off a late rally by Chattanooga Valley to defeat the Lady Eagles 3-2. A running, over-the-shoulder catch by Reagan Brown in deep center field helped thwart the CVMS threat. Megan Wolinsky went the distance to pick up the win. Jordyn Hamill had a key double for Gordon Lee.
Sep 5 The JV team blasted Calhoun 15-0.
Sep 4 Gordon Lee beat Rossville 4-0. Tristen Young and Megan Wolinsky combined to pitch the shutout. Ashley McDonald and Jordyn Hamill had multi-hit games for the Lady Trojans.
Sep 3 The Lady Trojans defeated Trion 6-1. Jordyn Hamill had a double for GLMS. Megan Wolinsky was the winning pitcher.
Sep 1 Gordon Lee rallied for four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to defeat Lakeview 8-7. A two-out RBI single by Ashtin Burton was the game-winning hit.
Aug 20 The Lady Trojans opened their season with an 11-0 win over Trion. Megan Wolinsky threw a no-hitter in the five-inning game. Jordyn Hamill sparked the offense with a first-inning, two-run, inside-the-park home run.
