2011 season updates
Apr 26 The Trojans and Lady Trojans each finished second in a four-team meet. Hunter Teeters won three events for GLMS, finishing first in the long jump, 100m, and 200m. Dallas Goodlet won the shot put, Jonas VanLandingham took first in the 800m, and Andrew Towns captured the pole vault with a school-record jump of 10-6. Colin Wright was second in the pole vault, but tied the record of 10-6. The girls' team got wins from Madelyn Lee in the shot put and discus, Erin Brown in the 800m and 1600m, Alisabeth Bradford in the 100m, and the 1600m relay team of Reagan Brown, Erin Brown, Mary Kate Pritchett, and Anna Pettigrew.
Apr 18 Both teams were second in a three-team meet. Winners for the Lady Trojans were Madelyn Lee in the discus and shot put, Anna Pettigrew in the pole vault, and Erin Brown in the 1600m and the 800m, where she set a new school record with a time of 2:40. First-place finishers for the Trojans were Colin Wright in the pole vault and Hunter Teeters in the 100m and the long jump, where he set a new GLMS record of 18-2 1/2.
Apr 11 The boys' team topped Chattanooga Valley and Lakeview but finished behind Heritage in a four-team meet. Individual winners for the Trojans were Scott Royal in the high jump, Colin Wright in the pole vault, and Hunter Teeters in the 400m. The girls' team got wins from Anna Pettigrew in the pole vault and Erin Brown in the 1600m.
Mar 29 Both teams finished first in their season-opening meet. The Lady Trojans got wins from Madelyn Lee in the shot put and discus, Erin Brown in the 800m and 1600m, Anna Pettigrew in the pole vault, Tiffany Holland in the 400m, and from the 1600m relay team of Pettigrew, Brown, Mary Kate Pritchett, and Holland. First-place finishers for the Trojans were Colin Wright, who set a new school record of 10-1 in the pole vault and also captured the high jump, Dallas Goodlet in the shot put and discus, Hunter Teeters in the long jump, Johnny Ragsdale in the 800m, and the 1600m relay team of Andrew Towns, Wright, Scott Royal, and Teeters.
