Volleyball team sweeps NGAC championships
The GLMS volleyball team won its second North Georgia Athletic Conference tournament championship with a dramatic 17-25, 25-11, 32-30 victory over Heritage in the finals. The Lady Trojans had previously captured their second NGAC regular-season championship. The team's other titles came in 2008.
Anna Pettigrew, Riley Breeden, and Alli Cole were selected to the NGAC All-League team. Gabriella Gray, Alli Cole, Riley Breeden, and Kaitlyn McConnell were chosen to the All-Tournament team. McConnell was named as the tournament's Most Valuable Player.
2010 season updates
Oct 2 Gordon Lee defeated Heritage 17-25, 25-11, 32-30 in the NGAC tournament finals to wrap up its second NGAC championship. The Lady Trojans finished the season with a record of 12-2.
Sep 21 GLMS dropped a three-set match to Heritage, 21-25, 25-17, 27-25. The JV team rallied to defeat the Lady Generals 21-25, 25-21, 15-8.
Sep 13 The Lady Trojans avenged their only loss of the season by defeating Rossville 25-12, 25-13. The JV team won 25-21, 25-19.
Sep 11 Gordon Lee knocked off Ringgold 25-10, 25-10. The JV team also beat the Lady Tigers in straight sets.
Sep 9 GLMS swept LaFayette 25-11, 25-15. The JV team lost a close match 29-27, 27-29, 15-8.
Sep 7 The Lady Trojans beat Lakeview 25-14, 25-13, but the JV team fell to the Lady Warriors 25-13, 19-25, 15-13.
Sep 2 Gordon Lee defeated Heritage in three sets.
Aug 31 The Lady Trojans took the first set at Rossville but saw the home team rally to give GLMS a 19-25, 25-19, 25-19 loss. The JV team handled the Lady Bulldogs 25-6, 25-17.
Aug 24 Gordon Lee opened its season with a 25-7, 25-19 victory over Chattanooga Valley. The JV team beat the Lady Eagles 26-24, 25-22.
